Water and the Word: Gushing

…but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty.

The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life. (John 4:14)

When you think about your life,

and consider where and how

it might be gushing,

what comes to mind?

I pray that the prominent flow

in mine is sourced

from a deep well of hope;

that what washes over all

in my orbit comes

from the thirst-quenching spring

of divine love.

In this flow,

we learn how to grow,

how to give and go,

how to find a place –

a sacred space –

covered in grace.
