Believing we are swimming

in a sea of indifference,

I am shocked back

to reality by the heartfelt

words and actions

of siblings

from another continent.

Partnership and teamwork

pale as descriptions

of the ways obstacles

are overcome.

as modus operandi

defies convention

and expectation,

allowing us to find

a way where

there seemed not

to be one.
