Water and the Word: Stretched Thin
O Lord, when we
feel stretched thin,
our personas spread across
too many digital/techno formats,
with not enough pixels available
to create a representation
of our whole selves,
give us both courage and gumption
to perceive that the reality
of who we are is encompassed,
not in the bits and bytes
of our online presence,
however hurried and harrowing
that may be,
but in the deeps
of our marrow
that connect us
one to another
by the spiritual DNA emanating
from creation’s primordial ooze.
Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.
